Since space radiation remains major hazard for humans going to Mars, I want to create morphogenetic robotic astronauts who we can send to Mars and even in deep space to gather information and can replicate itself, and create other morphogenetic robotics that can do different functions.
Purpose:
This technology combines both human and robot aspects. When biology and robotics combine to form a humanoid that uses the biology that has been perfected by nature from billions of years and the technology that has the computing power of billions of times faster than human brains, and also uses sensors that can gather data that is undetectable by humans. Adding Artificial Intelligence (AI) to this, the technology will be able to modify code to fit the needs of the robot. But when integrating the systems of CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeat – a genetic engineering technique) and AI together, the AI will be able to modify the DNA of humans millions of times faster than humans editing DNA, and trillions of times faster than nature. This will allow the DNA to adapt billions of times faster, and will speed up the process of evolution!
Morphogenetic can use past experiences during their lifetime. CRISPR records data on a molecular scale by detecting gaps in DNA which allows bacteria to remember virus attacks, and destroy them as fast as possible. Our human memory allows us to remember past events and use them to affect our judgements decisions today and in the future. The astronaut will have both of these features; using past memories to improve judgment, and CRISPR on a DNA level to protect against harmful radiation. CRISPER should also have data banks of other animals. For example there is fungi that is immune to radiation, and that should be added to the bio-humanoids to become immune to radiation.
The astronaut must be able to adapt to situations. For example if there is a disease or virus that humans have never been exposed to, an advanced version of CRISPR needs to adapt and improve to fight it.
I am interested in creating this morphogenetic robot for deep space travel and for the Mars mission even though I am constrained by being in 8th grade. I’m planning on continuing my research on this and I am hoping that help from NASA, SpaceX, and other advance aerospace organizations who are planning space transportation to help me with achieve my goal.
